A one of a kind cooperative program between The Works Art and Design Festival and Edmonton International Jazz Festival, The Works with Jazz program features Jazz and art performances by professional and emerging musicians and visual artists. Visual Artists featured include spoken word, experimental music, performance art, dance and improvisational comedy troupes.

Sandro Dominelli is one of Canada's most creative, talented and tasteful drummers. With a Juno Nomination, Western Canadian Music Award, a Canadian Independent Music Award and two Edmonton Mayor's Awards under his belt, Sandro's is truly a jewel in the crown of Alberta's cultural make-up.
 
Parc-X Trio - June 25, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Hailing from Parc-Extension, Montreal's most multicultural borough, Park-X Trio's music is a blend of contemporary jazz that focuses on group interplay and high energy, all while keeping a strong melodic sensibility.
 
Mike Essoudry's Mashed Potato Mashers - June 26, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Mike Essoudry's Mash Potato Mashers is a parade style band (two drummers and seven horn players) that plays Balkan, second line, Klezmer, Brazilian, Reggae and ska-style originals and covers.
 
Andrew Glover - June 27, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Andrew Glover is an accomplished pianist and composer. He is credited with a huge body of work which extends to Europe and the U.S., as well as his home town of Edmonton.
 
Chris Andrew - June 28, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Chris has studied in Cuba and has toured across Canada countless times in a number of bands in various musical styles, including jazz, funk, pop and Latin.
 
Peter Belec Trio - June 29, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
An in-demand Edmonton guitarist, Peter Belec's sound ranges from Modern Jazz to Latin to Reggae.

Lou Wreath - June 28, 6:15 - 7:00 pm
Lou Wreath writes music using visually driven lyrics in order to experience the wonderment and excitement of life’s little portraits. Accompanied by atmospheric, steady guitar rhythms, he performs like a painter, using fictional and nonfictional images to create grief-stricken landscapes that one hears with the ears and sees within.

The music of Geist will take you through the most beautiful—and the darkest—parts of the human soul. With post-rock and progressive influences, they are pop at the core. They construct alluring melodies and can weave abstract time signatures into deceptively danceable beats.

You will not soon forget the sweet licks and haunting melodies of Low Flying Planes. The group uses diverse songwriting styles and techniques to guarantee a compelling soundtrack. Their harmonies blend together and create the perception of a solo instrument that stands alone.

Maria in the Shower hail from Vancouver’s legendary folk cabaret scene. They are minstrels and entertainers cut from an old cloth who gather stories wherever they go.

June People - July 3, 5:00 - 5:45 pm
